I was born in La Mesa, California, raised in Portland, Oregon and currently live in South Los Angeles. I attended Bennett College, an HBCU, and have dedicated my professional life to inspiring people to be their most creative and authentic selves through reading, writing and dialogue.

Writing gave me comfort as a young Black girl growing up in a world filled with stress and uncertainty. As I grew older, writing healed the hurt parts of my mind and heart. As an adult, I take the lessons and the wisdom and use it in my teaching, writing and performing.
